OUR KUMARA LETTER.
(Our Own Correspondent.} The combined Foresters and Druids Plain and Fancy Dress Ball was held on Friday night in the Adelphi Hall. The event was attended by a crowd of merrymakers and dancing was kept up with vigour till early morning. In one respect however there wag a distinct falling off from former years as only a few put in an appearance in fancy costume. This howeyer did not damp the ardour of onyone as all seemed to enjoy themselves. The catering in the hands of Mr-Cr. Harper was quite up to his hi£h standard. Mr G. Good had charge of the floor and kept things moving merrily. The music was supplied by Mr R. Harrison (piano) and Mr .Waugh (violin) and was all that cdjjii&: We ; ,desired. 'His Lordship Bishop Julius arrived by the late train from Christchurch on Saturday evening. He preached to ■jypfge congregations both at, imorning services at the latter of which the rite of Confirmation was administered. In the afternfipn.; His Lordship in company with the Rev. MPUoare visited Stafford where a service was held His Lordship preaching. This evening at the Adelphi Theatre a welcome will be accorded to his Lordship when, he will deliver a lecture. As he is noted for his powers as a lecturer this alone will assure a full Ball. tr.in
