Shortly after the arrests it was reported that a confession had been made by one of the prisoners, Birondranath Ghoose. Ho admitted tnat he was a ringleader in a gang which was determined to assassinate prominent officials. He described the establishment of tho secret bomb factory and the arrangements for distribute!.:? revolvers among his followers. He also described two attempts which were made to blow up a special train in which Sir Andrew Eraser, the Lieut enant-Governor of Bengal, and Lady Frascr were travelling, and also an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the mayor at Chandernagore.

A new method of maintaining the freshness of milk without the use of preservatives has, says an English health journal, just hccn discovered. The milk is sprayed through a series of fine nozzles, with the result that the fat is broken up into the smallest possible particles, and their separation is rendered impossible for some hours, in spite of the churning effect of a long railway journey. This is expected to increase the possibilities of milk transportation bv hundreds of miles.
