ENT RAO 1! DINAK V SCENES. The submission of the House of .IVers’ amendment of the Railway Nationalisation Bill caused a free light in the House of Representatives at Tokio on .March 271 h. Five members stood up loudly protesting and rushed towards tbo rostrum, where they met some members of the Government Party. There was a considerable exchange of blows and tearing of dollies, and some glasses were thrown. One member, who had divested himself of his jacket, was seen hurling members of the Opposition about. The President of (ho House, who occupied a seat immediately above, waved bis hands and demanded a cessation of the disturbance. A dozen police wove called in, and restored order after one member bad been ejected. Then the Opposition tried to leave the House in a body. Some of them succeeded in doing so, but the doers were then dosed, and the officers prevented the remainder from going out. Eventually the Bill was passed by 214 to nil, the Opposition declining to record their votes, as they considered (ho Government’s high-handed measures to bo inconsistent with the principles of constitutional government. The Premier introduced the revised measure, and all the Cabinet Ministers were present. The closure was moved, but the Opposition wanted to make speeches, and a general uproar lull owed. The Diet was formally closed the next day.
