Sheba (Miss Rpgen) is playing the," piano, while Salinne- (Miss;Campbell) is J lolling on the settee, while"' Georgiana: J (Miss Kilgour) is pouring out tea. The dinner is the themo of discussion, and Georgiana shows herself ail expert in criticism of the culinary art. Darbey (Mr Wylde-Brown) raid the Dean (Mr E. A. Wiekes) enter later on. Tho party is plunged in consternation by the announcement that the stables in which "Dandy -ick" is resting are on fire. A general disturbance takes place, and it is found that tho horse escapes with a singed tail and is safely bedded in the Deanery stables. This nrocedure horrifies the Dean, and he has grave visions of tho daily papers designating him as tho "sporting dean!" The Dean learns that his devoted butler, Blorr (Mr Shallcrass) is an ardent F"ort, and in a discussion on the subject is tempted to place £SO on "Dandy DicK" at the races on tho morrow. For fear of a chill received during "Dandy Dick's" removal from tho stable, tho Dean, who in his younger days had much experience with horses, prepares a lolus. Ho is finally caught at the stable in the act of administering tho pill, and is taken by iue local constable Topping (Mr Dillon) lo the police cells. The whole plot is carefully thought out, and "Dandy Dick" should score a triumphant success at the Opera House on Thursday and Friday next. The third act will be reviewed in Wednesday's issue.
