OUR REEFTON LETTER.
(By Our Own Correspondent.) It is with sincere regret that I have lo record tho death, at an early age, of Mrs C. Haub, which took place on Saturday evening. The deceased lady was the third daughter of Airs R. Liddieoat, and was a native of Reefton. For sonic time her health had been very bad, and in spite of all that medical skill and the devotion of a loving husband and mother could do, she became a victim to consumption. Her end, though rather sudden, was not unexpected, deatii being welcomed by her as a happy release, her long and tedious illness being borne with great patience and Christian fortitude. Very great sympathy is felt for tlie bereaved ones in their sore affliction.
Great preparations are being made for (he forthcoming bazaar in aid of (he new Wesley Church, which is to bo opened by the County Chairman on Friday afternoon. From what we can gather, this event promises to bo a great success. The new church is nearing completion and presents a very handsome appearance. 1 hear that the opening ceremony and dedication are to be of a most important nature.
The many friends of Afiss S. Williams, of Upper Broadway, will regret to learn that she is leaving Reefton in a few days to take up her duties as school mistress near Nelson. Aliss Williams is one of our most energetic citizens, and the. district can ill afford to lose such. However, the appointment- is to her material advantage, and while regretting her departure, wo would offer our congratulations and
good wishes. I understand a complimentary social is to bo given in her honour on Thursday evening.
