NELSON CREEK NOTES.
[OTJB OWN' COKKESI'OXUKXT. ] The New Nelson Creek dredge, which is being erected on the fornici Band of Hope claim, is making ex-
cellent progress under the supervision of Mr J. Straker, of Shaker a'.d Cox. The dredge will lie completed about Christmas.
The surveying staff under Air C. Morrison have been shifted from hero to Raupo on important surveying business. They are expected back hero to complete their work shortly after Christmas.
The ladies and gentlemen of this township are looking forward to an excellent night's dancing on October 6th, on which date a dance is lo he held by the Nelson Creek School Committee.
Mr Francis O'Brien and Air P. Considine have started an extensive prospecting tour in the back blocks, and. are camping some distane from tlie town.
Mr T. Lowther, former partner of A. Tilled, is about to be married in Wellington, and will shortly take up his residence in this place again. The footballers journeyed, from here to Reefton on Saturday last to try conclusions with tho Keefton team, and were defeated by 11 points (2 tries and a goal) to .'! (n penalty goal).
