THE NEW LIBERALS. WELLINGTON, This Day
The fame of the New Liberal party is spreading alielil, and a cablegram was received in Wellington to-day demanding that (heir counterfeit presentments should bo immediately forwarded to Sydney for publication in a weekly newspaper there. Messrs Taylor and Laurensoii have also received a requisition asking them to address meetings in Sydney. NEW ZEALAND FISHERIES. A debate on the general question of the fisheries of t'Jiis colony was precipitated last night by Mr Laurensoii, who is anxious that the Government should undertake an exhaustive enquiry into ihc "fishery" methods of other countries, and should also commission the Government steamer to explore the casts of New Zealand in search of a iisli bank.
