Mrs Willis's box, in charge of two detectives, was produced at the Lands Commission alter strong protests by Mrs Willis and her .solicitor against private papers being overhauled and opened before ilia Commission and found to contain a quantity of jewellery, plate, and a number of documents. The box with the jewellery and plate was handed back to .Mrs Willis. The Commissioner impounded the documents nntl vil private perns- them, and much is expected. The books relating to Mr Willis's business arc not to be found, •Mid McNair and Iloskins examined stated I hey were unable to throw any lisrht on the disappearance of the books. The accountant deposed that flic box was much lighter after Mrs Willis had it open just : eforo Willis left Sydney.
