Tn connection with the Dunedin nolice scandals, the Minister for Justice stated in the House last week that.the Dunedin nolice concerned in the scandals were appointed after a full enquiry by the local police. Moses, who was previously twice convicted of theft, and last convicted nine years ago, had since served in several contingents and in the Permanent Force. His record was overlooked by the nolice, and ho was recommended by Mr McFarland, J.P.. Wellington, and Fir William Steward. The Minister points out that he did not lead the others astray.
