THE LAND COMMISSION.
REPORTING ON TUESDAY. (Our Parliamentary Reporter). WELLINGTON. This Day, ’■’•e Land Commission made an earnest endeavour to complete its report by to-day (Saturday), the date of its last extension, but was unable to do so, and has had to secure a further ■extension until Tuesday next, the last day on which, according to the terms of (he resolution of the House, setting up the Commission (fourteen days after the opening of the session), it could report. The findings of the Commission will be forwarded to his Excellency the Governor on Tuesday, and will be by him transmitted to the House. The discussion on the report will not be taken for some time, in order to allow of the printing of the remainder of the evidence, and for consideration of tho report bj - members. When consideration is undertaken, Mr Massey, leader of the Opposition, will move* a No-Gunfidenco motion, with the object of separating the sheep from the goats. His intention is to frame the motion in such terms that all who have spoken in favour of the freehold will be Compelled to vote with him.
