THE BOROUGH ELECTION.

Sir, —As a report seems to have gained currency that I have boon tho means of reducing wages in the Borough, 1 beg to state through the medium of your columns that I have at no time during my scat in the Borough proposed or seconded cither in Committee or Council for a reduction iu wages. As this report probably will prejudice my chances iu the present election, I ask you lo publish this letter, and thanking you in anticipation. —I remain, your respectfully, J. Steer.
