COUNTY OF. COLUNG WOOD. aorere and pakawau RIDINGS. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE GENERAL RATE. NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Collingwood County Council at its next meeting to be held at the County Offices, Colling wood, on the Second day of May, 1910, to make and levy under Section 117 of the “ Counties Act 1908,” and Section 4 3 of the “ Rating Act, i9o,V : a GENERAL RATE OF FIVE FARTHINGS IN THE POUND over the whole of the rateable property in the above Ridings of the County of Collingwood for a period of one year, commencing on the first day of April, 1910, and terminating on the thirty-first day of March, 1911, such rate being payable in one instalment at the Council’s Office, Collingwood, on Friday, the first day of July, 1910. The Rate Books of the said Ridings will be open for inspection at the Council’s Office, for fourteen days after Monday, the 2nd day oi May, 1910. F. G. BLAKE, County Clerk. ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. IN accordance with the provisions of “The Education Act, 1908,” it is hereby notified that meeting's of Householders will be field in all tfie School Districts within the.. Education District of Nelson at 8 p.m. on MONDAY, the 25th day of April, 1910. for the Election.., of School Committees. The meetings will be held in the principal school buildings in each' District, except in the following places : Nelson, in the Provincial Hall ; Hope, in the Ranzau School Bright water, in the old Girls’ School ; Colling wood, in the Institute. When the average attendance of any school or schools under the Committee of a School District has not for the preceding school year exceeded twenty-five children, tfie Householders are ca’led upon to elect a Committee of Five Members; similarly when tfie average attendance lias exceeded twenty-five and has not exceeded two hundred, the Householders shall elect a Committee of* Seven Members; and where the average attendance has exceeded two hundred the Householders shall elecl a Committee of .Nine Members. Householders may send in writing to the Chairman of their School Committee (or in cases where there is no Committee, to tfie COlll- - to be delivered before 8 p.m. on MONDAY, the ißth April, 1910, the names of persons, being resident householders, nominated by them to serve on the School Committee for the year next ensuing. Each such nomination must be signed by the person nominated and the proposer, and must be in the form or to the effect of the ninth schedule to the above named Act, Nominations may also be made at the meetings of householders as provided for in Section of the Act. The parents and guardians only of the pupils attending Schools other than those in School Districts will meet on the same date to elect Committees of Five Members. N. R.
