FARMERS’ MEETING.
On Thursday and Friday last the farmers of Bainham and Rockvillemet in these respective centres for the purpose of conferring with Mr Stobie, Dairy Inspector, and Mr T. C. Webb, Noxious Weed Inspector, who were iu the district. Mr J. Fish presided at both meetings. The proceedings, consisted of a general discussion and asking and answering of questions upon a variety of matters' affecting the im terests and welfare of the farming community, and Mr Stobie impart-" ed.much useful information concerning all branches of the dairying industry. At Bainham, Mr W. JeffrLs, and at Rockville, Mr J. Hickmott, each offered paddocks of grass for the purpose of experimentation in the making of eusilage, and a resolution was passed to ask the Department to send an instructor to give lessons in' the making of this most Useful cattle feed. The proceedings were most enthusiastic, and keen interest was displayed by the large number of farmers present, . y
