Mr J. W. Moffatt, Mayor of Nelson, was a visitor to Feilding today. Mrs Frederick Whitridge, daughter of the late Matthew Arnold, the English poet, died of pneumonia at New York on Wednesday. Mr J. C. D. Ward, eldest son of Sir Cyril Ward, a grandson of the late Prime Minister, wa s admitted as a barrister in the Supreme Court byMr Justice Johnston in Christchurch. The. Rotary Conference at New Plymouth yesterday unanimouslyelected Mr J. M. A. Ilott of Wellington as the New Zealand* District Governor for 1934-1935. The death has occurred of Mrs Annie Draper in her 82nd- year. She was one of the most widely known of Marlborough’s old identities and had resided in Blenheim for over 60 years.
