New Zeahuids jubilee of amateur athletic history occurs, in 1047. Some enthusiasts, ancient and modern, are at work compiling a book on the subject, to be published in due course. There wag. a period in Eeilding’s dieivelopment, : some i>U yin's ag'O', when it wa.s one of the centres of athletic activities and provided rare sports meetings This district sent giants in those days over the hurdles and on to the cinder track. It is to he hoped some Feildingite with a good memory and some records stowed away will contribute l his district’s quota to the jubilee history of athletics in Sew Zealand.
