Movement in England HOUSE OF LORDS DEBATES THE SUBJECT ORDER FOR ARMOURED CARS SOME SUGGESTIONS THE OFFICIAL REPLY CLASH OF CLANS FIVE ORGANISATIONS By Telegraph—Press Assn —Copyright (Autl. and N.Z. Cable) London, March 1 Lord Kinnouli, m tho House of Lords, drew attention to the growth of Fascism. He understood that the British Fascists had ordered 25 armoured motor lorries, eaclwcarrying 20 persons and lined with armour throeeights of an inch thick. They were being financed by industrialists, bankers. some members of tile. House' oi Lords and a. certain foreign Power. Lord Esher declared that the hunger marchers and red flaggers were on the some plane as Fascists, while Sir Stafford Cripps, despite cautions hv the Trades Union Council, was continuing to teach that Labour must be revolutionary. “It never seems to occur to them that ideas of class warfare and dictatorship can be copied by the more powerful classes,” lie said “If there is an appeal to force in Britain by Socialists the people will defend themselves as they- di 1 in the [great strike.”
Lord Snell said that he had belonged to Labour since the birth of the movement and had never heard force, advocated. If Labourites indulged in one-tenth of the things Fascists, with their armoured cars, had done, they would have been put down by the Government.
Lord Fevershain, in replying, said that there was no such thing as a single united Fascist movement, but five separate organisations. The Daily Mail had recently given Sir Oswald Mosley's movement considerable publicity. They were certainly receiving strong financial hacking. The Home Office was-giving attention to the matter, which need cause no undue .apprehension. The, debate ended.
