ALLOTMENTS OF SHARES APPLICANTS TOTAL S7S3 GRATIFYING RESPONSE (Per Press Association ) Wellington, Feb. 28 Allotments of shares in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand were announced last evening’ by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. J. G. CoatesThe capital of the bank will comprise 100,000 shares of Z.-5 each, carrying - a cumulative dividend of 5 per cent. oQ paid up capitalPeople who applied for from one to ten shares have been * supplied in full, but applicants for more than ten have been allocated shares on a sliding scale. The final fig-urcs show* that persons applied/ for a total of 558,911 shares of £5 each. The- most notable feature of the issue is the larg-e number of small applications for shares, thus provingthe popularity of the issue and enabling- the Government to achieve its stated intention of having* the share capital distributed over a wide field.
