SHEEP STEALING
AMAZING CASE IN WEST 250 DU I VEN OFF TO SALES CULPRITS ESCAPE Orange, N.S.W Displaying almost unparalleled effrontery, two young men stole 250 slieep from a paddock at jCanowiiulila. and succeeded in selling them before the loss was discovered. The sheep were part, of a mob of about 500 in a. paddock belonging to .1. Grant, and the men drove off about half the number and placed them in charge of a well-known drover to be taken to Orange. The journey occupied several days and ilie sheep were seen many times. The ywer sold to a. grazier of Blayney for J 1/1 a head, and, after banking the cheque when when they received it, the men withdrew most of the money and have not been seen since. The drover is a reputable man and he had no idea that the sheep were stolen.
