OROUA DOWNS SPORTS
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7 The iSth annual meeting: of the Oroua Downs Sports Club will be held on the sports ground at Oroua Downs on Wednesday, March 7, commencing- at 10:30 a.m. As usual, the club is offering- very generous prizes. In fact, the prize money totals no Icsg a figure than £IOO, despite depression. The programme includes events for athletes, horsemen, highland dancing exponents, the house wife and the children. All tastes are catered for and as usual, suitable arrangements have been made to keep the public well posted with results, items of news, etc., while a programme of music will be dispensed. Produce and fruit stalls will be on the grounds and) refreshments will be procurable, while hot water will be suppliedi free to those who prefer to picnic under the shady trees- Free accommodation will be provided for competitors with horses coming from a. distance if the secretary be notified two days previous to the sports. Horse feed will be supplied free. A dance at night. The programme is on page 7 of today’s Star.
