The people of Leadhills, a remote village in Larnarksliire. were surprised to hear recently that they, as a community, had heen left £IO.OOO h.v Mr. James Alexander, a native of the village, whom they ha,i all forgotten. As a hoy he had left the village to seek his fortune in Glasgow. A number of smokers in New Zealand have also had a pleasant surprise recently. Because it was rather dark in appearance. they thought RED SHIELD TOBACCO was too strong for them. When, however, they have l>een invited to try a pipeful they have found that it is not only easy to smoke hut infinitely more satisfying and enjoyable than any Tobacco they have tried before—-an,] yet not at all strong. The reason lies in the perfect method of toasting. Red Shield (Dark) —and Blue Shield (Medium) are New Zealand Tobaccos at their best and toasted to a turnSold in handy 2oz tins at 1/7 and also in One Pound Canisters.
