HAS NARROW ESCAPE (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) (Received Sept. 16, 1 p.m.) London, .September 15 After riding five winners at the Doncacter meeting, Gordon Richards boarded a 20 seater London-bound aeroplane, which crashed in a hedge while taking off. The pilot Captain George Pennington, was killed; a trainer, Fred Darling. All’s Hartigan and five well- . uowii trainers were injured; Richards and another jockey, E. Lane, were slightly injured. The front of the machine was badly wrecked.
