The growth of the community spirit has boon strikingly exemplified during the past few months among the natives at tin* Wliakarewarewa ami Oliim mutu villages, where comprehensive improvement schemes are ’*ding undertaken an 1 carried out by native residents with the suppo t of the Borough Council and the Tourist I )epart ment. At Whakarewarewa a fund has been accumulated to finance the work and this will he further increased (luring tho holiday month when Maori guiles will pay a levy on each guiding fee collected.
