AMYRILL EASED UP Amy rill’s knees luuve been causing R. Barlow anxiety lately, and the mare has now been eased up in her work. There is a possibility that she \HII not race again for some time. BOTH GALLOPING WELL The two year olds Superior and Aussie Ra. who have been nominated for the Debutante Stakes at Wanganui. are both galloping well at New Plymouth. Superior appears to have the most pace, but Aussie Ra. made a good showing in the parade at the Hunt .meeting- and i? expected to do better with the colours up. AIR KEM BALL’S HORSES Air W. R. THE OLD TROUBLE Riccarton track reports that Martian Chief bled again on I hursday, after doing a useful work-out. FOR W.\ANGANUI IT. Cutts is leaving Christchurch for the Wanganui meeting on Monday night with Heather Glow and Copyist. NOT TO BE PERSEVERED W ITH New Plymouth reports that Glenvane has been affected be bleeding attacks lately, and Air G. Trendett has decided not to persevere with him. ENGA(3ED AT- W ANGANUI Havering. who is nominated for Wanganui, has so -far not put in an appearance on the Haw era tracks, but is reported to have done plenty of exercise on • hi‘s owner s farm. Havering- has not raced since he returned from Australia some months ago. SISTER TO RUAXLT Palm Queen, who contested the Maiden Plate at Marton, is a three year old sister to Ruanui and a halfsister to The T horn, and she is likely to do good service for Air W . R. Kemball this season. After one race at the Wellington spring meeting last year she was turned out, and she has now developed into a fine looking- filly . Her recent work has been very promising. ALAXAWH EN U A lAIP ROY 1N G Though on the improve (says a writer in the Auckland Star). Alanawhenua is still a very sick horse, and will take time to thoroughly' recover from the ailment that he has been suffering' from during the past couple of weeks. He* is now feeding better, and looks much brighter, and FT. Rama does not anticipate any- serious affects as the result of the gelding’s recent trouble. As soon, as Manuwhenua is well enough he is to be turned out for a few months’ spell. RAN WELL AT NATIONAL MEETING Sweet Agnes, ’who figures in the Penscroft Handicap at Ashburton coday, ran two good races at the National meeting at Riccarton last month and is a likely mprover. Her second in the Cashmere Plate was very encouraging; and that form will warrant her' getting solid support. This filly ha-s been galloping well in her track work at Riccarron. TO RACE AT WELLINGTON The Alatamata pair. Prince Val and Woodful. are now being sharpened up. It is Air Clothier’s present intention to take this pair to Wellington next month- This owner has been successful op. most of his trips south. LADY LULU, IMPROVING A report from. Alatamata has it that Lady Lulu has got oyer the ailment which came against her about three weeks ago. arid is now bowling along again. She should be ready for early summer meetings.

HAS BEEN TURNED OUT The Waikato-owned Domination, the half brother to Sir Russell, looked like* turning out useful, but has been subject to bleeding of late and has been turned out. ADDITION TO TEAM J. Fryer has added an addition to his team is a two year old by Sandstar from Kilcoo. the latter being by Kilbroney from Park Tide, the cfain of Eka. HAS DONE WELL Spoon came through her racing at the Grand National meeting very well. She has done a lot of useful work since then, and a few sprints should see her at her best for the Geraldine meeting. TIGERISM BROKEN DOWN Mr A. Lile, of New Plymouth, has received cabled advice from F. AlcGrath that Tigerism has broken down. Tigerism has been in AlcG rath’s stable at Rand wick for some months, and he had impressed his trainer as a horse likely to win good handicaps, so that his breakdown is unfortunate for Mr Lile. who has had anything but the best of luck with his horses in thy past few season*. STAKES AND TAXATION During- the last ten seasons the Winton Trotting Club has given £14,500 in stakes and paid .£lO,Oll in taxation.
