MAORI CHILD DROWNED

IN WELL, AT ROTORUA RESIDENT’S ACTION PRAISED (Pep Press Association). Rotorua, September 16 A Maori child, Toi Woods, aged 2} years was drowned in a deep well in the vicinity of Owhata Point, Lake Rotorua, on Friday morning. The child was missed about 8 a.m. and its body was found 1 floating in the well. Mr D. Galvin, who was in the vicinity immediately jumped into the water and brought, out the body, life being then extii.net. Mr Galvin’s action was commended by the Coroner (Mr AV. L. Richards) at an inquest during the afternoon, when a verdict of accidental death was returned.
