A reduction in taxation as a means of assisting- national recovery In Ac:w Zealand is a device so sound that there is stil hope of its being- adequately dealt with by the Minister of Finance in his Budgetary statement when Parliament meets is a suggstion made to the Stalin a statement from the Associated Chambers of Commerce. The far-reaching- effects that would attend such step would amply compensate for the- tardiness of the Government, in the matter to date. We heartily endorse this idea. It quite bucks us up towards having a merry Christmas and a happier Mew Year. We trust the member for Oroua will pass the idea oil to Mr Forbes when he returns 1 o-m orrow.
