RUGBY IN SOUTH AFRICA PROPOSED TOUR IN 1937 (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) Capetown, Sept, o The Western Provinces boat the Wallabies by 4 to nil in the presence of 15,000 spectators. The provinces’ side included several Springbok*. A special Rugby conference decided to recommend the Rugbv Board to accept the invitation r<l tour New Zealand and Australia ; n 1037, and that after this South Africa should participate in international toure either at home or abroad only at five-year intervals. Tlie feeling of the conference, was that South Africa should concentrate on developing domestic football, and not encourage international tours, which disorganised the game locally. Nevertheless, in order to assist football in Australia, it felt this invitation should be accepted.
