The Rev. Dr. E. C. Cox, I.itt.D., who has been for 32 years connected with the Melanesian Mission and has charge of a, central school lor boys a Ugt, Solomon Islands, is visiting New Zealand at present.

At the Guildhall, London, on Saturday, the liverymen of the city chose Sir Percy Greenaway to be the next Lord Mayor. He is head of the city firm of Daniel Greenaway, general printers.

Mr R. C. Blunt, the New Zealand rep, cricketer, proceeds to Napier to-morrow and leaves from that port for England to take up a business appointment, offered by Sir Jiilien Cahn at Nottingham.

The funeral took place, to-day ol Mr Stephen Todd, 40, ol Palmerston. He spent nearly all his life in Palmerston, but was born at Karori, Wellington, lie had been a. member of the. Druids Lodge for 30 years, rising to Past Arch. He leaves to mourn his passing a widow and nine children and two grandchildren, also his father, ‘.Mr N. I odd, of Feilding, a brother, Mr IT. N. lodd, and a sister, Mrs W. G. Kilford, of Feilding.
