BRITISH COMPANIES PROPOSAL CONSIDERATION BY MEN (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) London, October 1. At a conference between, tlie railway companies and tlie unions, the former proposed an all-round 10 per cent, reduction in wages and salaries' replacing the percentage deduction! awarded in March. 1931. Tho new minimum rate gives unbilled workers 38t> a week. The condition of mercies are untouched. Tn 0 conference adjourned to allow consideration of the proposals by the men’s executives.
