PURSUING THE PEST

IN M AN At VATU COUNTY TIIE INSPECTOR’S REPORT The Manawatu Rabbit Board’s inspector reported as follows : During the past month I was engaged in the general inspection of properties in the Board area. The result of poisoning operations has been very satisfactory, and more of this work has been done this winter than previously. This will have a very definite chock on breeding aetivj ities in the spring. Splendid weai tiler for poisoning work was experi- : enc-e.l which has to a great extent helped to produce the secured re- . suits, I would strongly advise lull farmers to follow up the poison- ! ing with cyanide fumigation of burrows where ever possible. If breeding can he kept down from now on ;it will save farmers an endless ! amount of time and expense later on during the busy farming period. The land is in good order for this work at present and no excuse can be made lor not carrying it out.
