Wearing bright yellow oilskins, the King boarded liis yacht Britannia at Cowes and raced n the Solent against .Candida and WtN'.waiyl. Alter a ding-dong battle the Royal yacht dead-heated with Air Davis’* schooner Westward, which started so badly that site had lost 5 minutes 39 seconds to Britannia at the end of tlie first round, hut recovered brilliantly.
