DEMAND HIGHER WAGES SIN THOI'SAND ON STRIKE (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) Shanghai. June 27. All silk, operators in Shanghai went out tm strike tor increased wages to-day. The 6000 native workers have boon working 12 hours a day for approximately 20 cents. They demand ti 10-hour day and 27 cents a day.
