Herbert Edward Reid, a bankrupt manufacturer, who met his creditors before the Official Assignee-, Mr. J. 11. Robertson, to-day, was, through lack of capital, unable to a Ivortisc thorn, and that fact, he stated, had a good deal to do with his failure. "it is utterly impossible to do anything c n the retail market unless one can create- a demand, and that can only bo lone by advel•tising•.* , said bankrupt, who went on to explain that; flie sales of his product had fallen away on account of the economic condition and lack of funds wherewith to advertise.
