ELI SNA LAND I AT TIVOLI Executives or five motion picture studios were bidding- for the .services of FJissa Landi, following- her sensational performance in “A Farewell to Arms,” a Broadway stage play, when she decided to accept the offer made. by Fox Filins. Miss Landi sa> s she made up her inind to sign a Fox Movietone contract because she fell in love with the part offered her in “Body and Soul,” opposite Charles Farrell, popular leading man of tho films, to be screened at the Tivoli to-night. Miss Landi, who is a beautiful blonde, is new to the screen only in the United States. She played roles in several foreign made pictures. Two of them were produced by F.linor Glyn and in another one she played opposite Adolphe Menjou.
