WONDERFUL DISCOVERY BY GARSTANG EXPEDITION ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS JERICHO'S ROYAL PALACE IN THE TIME OF JERICHO LIGHT ON THE BIBLE IN THE BOOK OF JUDGES (Aust and N.Z. Professor Garstang, a past director of the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem and Professor of Archaeology in the University of Liverpool since 1907, now in charge of the Palestine ex. cavations, has located the royal palace at Jericho which was razed when Joshua burned that city 34 centuries ago. TOO HOT IN THE VALLEY Sir Charles Warston states that the excavation of the palace >s being delayed until 1932 owing to tho excessive heat at present in the Jordan "Valley. FINDS IN CEMETERY The disaovery follows the recent location of the ancient necropolis of Jericho in which Prof. Garstang estimates there are 2000 unopened tombs. SURPRISE FOR LONDON An exhibition of the finds will probably be held in London. WRITING A BOOK Prof. Garstang is publish, ing a book dealing with the researches, which Sir Charles Warston believes will revolutionise many ideas regarding Bible history up to the time of the events recorded in the Book of Judges.
