BODY OF SOLDIER SUICIDE OBEYING THE LAW (Aust. and N.Z Cable) London, April 7. A stir lias been caused by the refusal of the vicar of Wiyelsfield iu Sussex', to permit- tho body of all ex-service, man,, Cottingham, who had committed suicide, to be. brought into the parish church for a funeral service. The chairman of tho local branch of the British Legion, Colonel Rust, declared that Cottingham wo.s good enough to fight for lbs country, hut not good enough to ho taken into the church. , Tile coroner, Dr Hon re, described the vicar’s action as unchristian, hut Airs Haunter Gotley, the vicar’s wife, said her husband had merely obeyed the law of the church.
