With the exception of Oakland, California, where four parading Communists were seriously injured by a. polife charge, the May Day demon, strations in the various cities of the United States generally were with on it incident. Boston reports that many children were in the parade there, which was without disorder. The Philadelphia Town Hall was guarded by police, while: Communists held a demonstration nearby. Two Communists wore seized at Schenectady while, banding cut Red literature. A few arrests were made at Newark, New Jersey. PRECAUTIONS IN JAPAN Tokio, May 1. As a precautionary measure, 200 trouble-makers wore .gaoled overnight in Tokio. Labour Day passed without serious disturbance.
