SHARP RISE IX FAT SHEEP Owing to the presence of a keen outside • buyer, there was a rise of about 3s per head in fat sheep at the Feilding- stock sale yesterday, when there was a good yarding. Fat lambs (primes!) went up to 20s qd, good t7s to 18s, medium 14s 6d to 16s id. Fat ewes (primest) 21s 8d to 235, good iqs to iqs 6d, medium 17s 4d to 18s 3d, fair from 14s 6d. Fat twotooihs (good) 24s 6d. Two-tooth wethers 22s 4d. Stores.—Five year ewes r.w. S.D. rams 17s qd, four and five-year ditto 18s id, four year ditto 24s 3d. Lambs—Ewes (woolly) 20s 4d, m.s. poor 6s 7d, b.f. woolly ns Bd, twotooth wethers iqs sd. A small offering of dairy stock found the market quite keen, especially for heifers and springing cows. The best price was £ls for a good heifer running with hull. Springing heifers mad,e up 10 £lO 10s for qua lity stuff; others from £7 os to £9 os; springing cows made £8 10s to 9; springing shorthorn cows, £8 15s; heifers in milk, £8 10s; good House cows, £8 15s. Store cattle were easier in price. The demand was not very keen. Dairy cows due July sold at £5 15s; young cows, £2 16s; fair condition Jersey store* cows, £5 10s; dehorned Jersey cows,#£3 10s; emptp heifers, £4; P.A. cows, £2 17s 6d; weaner heifers in fair condition £2 14s to £3 2s; red cows in poor condition, £2 to £2 18s Bet; black and white cows, £3 to £3 12s.

Owing to tlie drop in freezing prices of fat cattle, the local demand was not strong, and a drop was recorded. Good quality beef made up to 25s per 100 pounds. No bullocks were offered. Fat cows, Jersey s°rtSj went up to £7 12s 6d ; lighter, from £6 11s to £6 16s 6d ; a few lines at £4 8s to £5 10s; P.A. cows, £6 15s; god weights to £3 10s Cd; others. £2 2s 6d ; bulls, to £3 10s.
