By its victory to-day over tho Victorian team by 35 matches to 25- on Ilie Shirley links, the New Zealand team earned the right lo play the New South Wales team (the holder) for the Kirk-'Windeyer Cup. On Monday the foursomes had ended in a win for each team, and yesterday th e wins of T. H. Horton and E. M. MacTarlane, and J. L. Black’s squaring of liis match from an almost hopeless position, made New Zealand's position secure. New Zealand and New South Wales will meet in th e foursomes to-mor-row. Results of the matches played today. New Zealand names being mentioned first, were:— Horton heat Ryan, six up. Masfarlane beat Russell, one up. Ross lost to Suite, one down. Slack and Hancock, all square.
