Endeavours are being made to form a class in Maori at the Palmerston Technical School.

With a dial of 30ft. in diameter, the clock in the Royal Liver Building, Liverpool, is believed to have the largest face in England.

The original manuscript of “Eugene Aram,” by Lord Lytton, is to be sold. It- consists of 066 pages, bound in three, volumes.

The honorary medical staff of the Dunedin Hospital, have made a donation of £4OO to the obstetrical fund, Otago’s share of which is now over £I7OO.

There are 15 students taking the differnt courses at the Canterbury College School of Forestry this year. This is an increase of three on last year.

The bursting of a 36m. water main, and two days later of an ißin. main, caused extensive damage to Sydney streets, the wood blocks being ripped up for many chains and tram lines displaced.
