FEILDING FIRE BOARD
THE ANNUAL MEETING MR FISHER RESIGNS The annual meeting of the f’eilding Fire Board was held this afternoon. Mr E. H. Fisher tendered his resignation as a member of the Board, and the Department of Internal Affairs notified the Board that steps were being taken to i'll the vacancy (Mr Fisher was. tile Government representative oii the Board). SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT Air O. C. Sporle, Superintendent, reported: The station .and plant art in good order. I would ask the Board to purchase fiOO feet of new hose, six pairs of working pants, and Boor covering for the small sitting room in the men’s quarters. The new garden hose has been purchased and the rubber lined hose for engine has been coupled up. The strength of the brigade is as follows : Twenty men and two officers. There have ben 34 parades during the year and the attendance and discipline has been good. There are three men doing station duty, A. Packer, B. Thompson and J. Adams. There are 21 men entitled to hoot allowance. I would ask the Board to accept B. Thompson as an active member from December 16, 1929.
In conclusion, gentlemen, I wish on behalf of j.iio officers and members of the brigade t° again thank you for the kind consideration of all matters brought before you during the yea r. I also wish to extend t° Mr Fisher the best wishes of the officers and members and the hope that he will soon be restored to good health again.
THE ESTIMATES
In his financial statement the Secretary reported that the estimated expenditure/ for the year 1929-30 was £782, and the actual expenditure £760 los. The estimated expenditure for 1930-31 was £832, including £SO fo rnew hose. The estimated credit balance for the year just closing was £2O, and the levy would total £Bl2. Towards this sum/ the Government would contribute £SO, the Feilding Borough Council £3Bl and the insurance companies £3Bl.
