KAYE DON

ALMOST TOUCHES 200 M.P.H. IN HIS SILVER BULLET CAust- and N.Z. Cable) New York, March 16. At Dayton Beach, Kaye Don drove his Silver Bullet for the first time under its own power when two runs over a nine-mile, course were not timed. It i's understood his tachometer indicated a speed of 198 miles per hour was attained. Although the car held to the course faifly well, it bumped along over several rough spots and as Don passed the grandstand he was bouncing in the cockpit but appeared to be having little difficulty in kepi'ng the machine under control. Don intends to make a further trial on Monday if the beach conditions continue favourable.
