President Hoover laid before Oongrss to-day a reoonvmendaton for «• ! per cent income tax rduction. totaling 160 million dollars. and a request or 2,830,449,211 dollars for Governmental use next! year.
He submitted a bright picture of the state of the nation’s finances and stated that a .(reduction of taxation by the past President had undoubtedlv increased the revenue and given a stimulus to business! and was partly responsible for the upward jump in receipts.
