Tlie lure of gold drew Air Levy into the interior, but when his pay dirt panned out be returned, established a, catering business in the main street of Victoria and continued there for -19 years. Be also acquired a business in the State ol Washington 'and spent much tune coining and going between Seattle and Victoria. He engaged in salmonpacking and hop-picking, and his real estate- holdings -in Seattle- became very valuable, in later ;eais. In the* Seattle fire of 1889 Air Levy - was burned out; and suffered heavy loss. Thenceforward be devoted himself mainly fo building m Victoria. He was a foundation member of the Oddfellows. His widow, tw'o sons, Arthur and Victor, reside in Victoria, a brother, Joseph, is in Seattle, and there are relatives in England, Australia and Now Zealand.
