BILL LOAN SANCTIONED
BY EMPHATIC* MAJORITY (Per Presq Association) Ha worn, Sept, 6. By five to one majority tfie ratepayers of (lie Smith. Taranaki Power Board area yesterday sanctioned the loan of £187,500 to enable (lie Board to purchase and develop the Hawera Electric Lighting Co.’s undertaking at the price of £125,637. Thin pricy, was fixed by. arbitration after a hearing of 17 days in March last, arousing the Dominion wide, interest of accountants, engineers and the legal profession. Air A f vers, (now Chief Justice) was counsel for the Board, this being oijo of his last case before Jus elevation to the Bench.
