BANK HOLD-UP
OFFICER SHOT IN THE LEG (Aust. and N.Z. Gable) Sydney, Sept. 5. Three masked men daringly held tip th© manager and an assistant of tlie Woollahra branch of the Bank of New South AVales this afternoon. The assistant, Thomas Holdsgrove, dived for a revolver under tie counter and! AV-as shot in the leg. Tlie men then fired at the manager, N. Everitt. a bullet grazing his arm. Apparently nonplussed by the unexpected resistance of the bank .staff t'hu men raced away Hwi.thouit at tempting t° raid the bank’s funds, and escaped in a motor, car, the engine of Avhieh was rAinning in fron±of tho bank
