TRAINING OF SECONDARY ' TEACHERS / (Per Press Association). Auckland, Sept. o. Owing to lack of training facilities for secondary school teachers, the Auckland Education Board is experiencing difficulty in securing teachers to fill positions at country high schools. The cliairmam, Mr A. Burns, yesterday stresUcd the need for a model secondary school at the .Training College. The seconadry schools of Auckland had been tusked to -consider''allowing trainees to enter their institutions for observation 'purposes, but the Seddou Memorial Technical College was the only one to agree.

“Only one application was received for an appointment at Putaruru, and she is doubtful whether .she will accept the appointment,” 'said Mr Burns. “If a model technical college were established, trainees could he afforded the opportunity of getting practical experience of secondary .school tuition. At present teach ers go into secondary departments without any practical training whatever. ’ ’
