Tiie forces of Ali Ahmed Jan, who proclaimed himself ruler of Jalalabad, were defeated by the Khugiani and Shinwari tribesmen, who looted the camp of its rifles, ammunition and monev.
pThey reduced. .Jalalabad to ruins !tnd sacked Jngdalak.
There was heavy fighting at Jalalabad fort, where the magazine exploded and 800 men were killed or injured. 'timed fled.
It is generally thought that Amanullah will not attempt to regain the throne.
