Bartholomew Mcllroy, alias Jack Kirwood, a smartly dressed man of 2G, appeared before Mr Hunt, S.M., charged, with stealing a bank book and-£3OO, a motor ear valued at £350, two grainapliones valued at £l9 and the theft of 600 dollars, the property of Mr Cronin, owner of the bankbook. “This man has been making a big splasll,” said Chief Detective Hammond. “After stealing the bankbook, he forged the signature and stole £3OO. He stole a. motor car and sold it for £IOO. He put on champagne suppers and within one month got through £-400.” ; When arrested he had only 4s 7d. Accused was remanded without bail.
