T OTES ANIJ COMMENTS

Racing at Dunedin,, Wanganui and Poverty Bay to-morrow.

Ceremony will not be produced again until saddled for the Mariawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The Hazlett Gold Cup is generally regarded as a match between Limerick and Aussie, with a shade of odds iir favour of the loriner.

Lysandev has been left in the Jackson Stakes at the Wanganui meeting. Ho is working well at the present time.

Buttle Colours is a rather notable absentee from tWe Dunedin Cup acceptors, as on recent form lie would have lent a lot of interest to the race. The 1000-guinea colt, Pink Coat, has evidently trained on since he made a. winning debut at Oanraru, as lie figures amongst the acceptors for the- Dunedin Champagne Stakes. It is unfortunate that-Silver Paper met with a mishap when doing brilliant work which promised to make him an interesting performer at the Dunedin Cup .meeting.;

Pink Note is the ruling favourite for the Dunedin Cup, and Aussie is the most talked about liorse in connection with the Publicans’ Handicap.

The Oaks winner, Pride, who was given a. west after her success in the classic event in November, is a candidate for the Midsummer Handicap at the coming C.J.C. meeting. She may do well in the autumn.

Rapier is training on well and he is likely to play a leading part in important events during tile autumn. Ho is engaged in the Publicans Handicap at the Dunedin meeting, opening to-morrow.

Mask is still a bit sore, and this accounts for the fact that he was not nominated for tli'e Wanganui Cup. ft is to be hoped ho will be all right foi the Easter meeting at Ellerslie, whcie he usually shows of ids best.

Merxeis, who created a great surprise by winning the maiden event at New Plymouth, is the first of the Thespians to score. She is a three year old bay filly from Commerce, and is a. half-sister to Laughing Stock and Bourse.

Taneiri, who finished second in the maiden event at New Plymouth, i« a three year old brown colt by Antagonist from Country Picnic, thins a brother to Hoariri. Like Hoariri, Taneiri races in the. colours of his breeder, Air H. Rama. L ‘

The Fordell mentor, F. Tilley, arrived at Wanganui on Tuesday evening with! his team ot six lor the Cup meeting. The half-dozen compiisc Laughing Prince, Cashier, Avro, Freehold, High Falutin’ and Glenartney. All look well, especially Laughing Prince.
