A largely attended meeting of Rural Education Endowment leaseholders at Gore to-day discussed the unsatisfactory nature of the present to tires. Speakers held that the short lenses are against the host interests ol The farming community, owing to the difficulty in raising finance, and on account of the raised rentals due to the improvements. Tt was agreed to circulate a petition which will hoi placed before Parliament asking for a 66 years lease with the right of perpetual renewal or the purchase of the freehold. Tt was also decided to send a deputation to Wellington to interview the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Lands and Education and the Leader of the Opposition.
